Literature Reviews - visual depictions

An example posted to our old forum by josephbradley26. He wrote:

Scholarly literature often includes literature reviews.

I started creating graphical views of them reviews to show how articles and books were related. Flying Logic is not perfect, but you can get some good ideas from the pictures that can be created. I created a color palette to distinguish seminal documents, advances within the field and challenges to the field.

The arrows represent a direct citation by the later author of the earlier author.
